Raymond Federman

Raymond Federman ( born May 15, 1928 in Montrouge, France; † October 6, 2009 in San Diego, California ) was a French-American writer and scholar.

Life

Raymond Federman was of Jewish descent and grew up in France. When the French police on behalf of the German occupying forces on July 16th and 17th 1942 in Paris arrested nearly 13,000 Jewish citizens in the large-scale raid, which was known as the " Vélodrome d' Hiver Rafle you ", police forced their way in the apartment one of the Federman family. Work

For Raymond Federman 's survival of the Holocaust was a key impetus for his literary practice.
