Raymond Orteig

Raymond Orteig (* 1870, † 1939) was a Parisian hotelier, which in 1919 the sum of $ 25,000 as a prize for the first flight across the Atlantic (New York, Paris) was donated. This " Orteig price " later became known as Lindbergh price and was continued in the X-Prize.
