RC Bobo

Racing Club Bobo- Dioulasso (Racing Club de Bobo-Dioulasso ) is a sports club based in Bobo-Dioulasso, the second largest city of the West African country of Burkina Faso. RCB is the common short form of the name.

The association was created in June 1949 from the merger of U.S. Bobo-Dioulasso ( Union sportive bobolaise ) and Union Soudanaise Bobo-Dioulasso. USB was the successor of Togo Daho Bobo-Dioulasso, in 1935, founded and thus the oldest club on the territory of today's Burkina Faso. Togo - Daho was founded by from Dahomey ( now Benin ), Union of Soudanaise from French Sudan (now Mali) originating inhabitants of the commercial metropolis. Initiators of the merger were among other Karamoko Toure, Moussa Namoko and Roger EKWE.

The club colors are black and white, in the early days played RCB in leotards with black and white horizontal stripes. Racing has its roots in the district Diarradougou, hence the nickname Les Panthères de Diarradougou (Fr. " the Panther of Diarradougou ").

In the 1950s, the association took several times a cup competition of French West Africa in part, was there but mostly chance, as against Darsalamy at 00:13 defeat. Beginning of the 1960s merged with RCB Reconnaissance Bobo-Dioulasso, an association of Malians.

RCB has been three times Burkina Faso champion (1972, 1996, 1997) and was six times the national cup competition ( Coupe du Faso) win (1961, 1962, 1984, 1987, 1995, 2007). With the tournament victory in 1961 Racing was the first winner of the Cup after the independence of the former Upper Volta.

The season 2006/ 07 closed from Racing in 5th position of the championship and winning the cup competition against U.S. Ouagadougou (2:1). Thus, the club secured the participation in the CAF Confederation Cup 2008.

Since the Stade Omnisports de Bobo-Dioulasso is no longer used because of high maintenance costs for league games, the club plays its home matches at the Stade WOBI. The training ground is located at the former racecourse in sector 2 President of the Association is Adama Tapsoba, Secretary General Amadou Bamba, the first team is coached by Brama Traoré.

The standing at the 1 FC Kaiserslautern signed Moussa Ouattara began his career at RCB.

In January 2007, the club was presented with material donations from companies SATCI.
