The Rugby Club Mainz is a rugby club based in Mainz.

History

1997 Rugby department at the 1 FC forward Orient Mainz was founded. In 1999, this department from the Rugby Club Mainz. First one took part in the regional leagues in Rhineland -Palatinate and Hesse with a men's team in the game mode. In summer 2002, the rise in the second Rugby - Bundesliga South succeeded. In the next season you but could not avoid relegation and at the end of the season we got off again.

In the season 2006/2007 was the first men's team champion in the Rhineland -Palatinate league tournament and managed the ascent to the second Bundesliga South ascension, the season ended but the relegation zone. By adding in the second division to a total of ten teams, however, the descent could be prevented. Meanwhile, the team plays in the Bundesliga West.

2002, a youth team and a women's team in 2003 was launched.
