Rıdvan Baygut

Ridvan Baygut ( born March 3, 1985 in Tuzla ) is a Turkish Taekwondo. It starts in the weight class up to 74 kg.

Baygut played his first international title fights at the 2005 European Championships in Riga, where he was eliminated in the second round. Two years later he took in Beijing for the first time at the World Cup finals, but had to accept an opening defeat. Successful was he in the following years, especially at the European Championships. 2008 in Rome and 2010 in Saint Petersburg, he became European champion in each case, in the final he defeated both times Manuel Mark from Austria. At the 2011 World Championships in Gyeongju Baygut reached the semi-finals and won bronze with his first World Championship medal. A year later, he won silver at the European Championships 2012 in Manchester his third European Championship medal.

Has Baygut at the Sakarya University studied. He participated in three Universiade, his best results were two quarter- finals. He starts for the club Tuzla Belediyesi Spor Kulübü'nde.
