Readme.cc is an EU-funded internet platform that allows readers to exchange books. The intercultural portal has already been translated into ten languages ​​, and after the required period readme.cc went in the spring of 2008 at the start.

History

The idea of ​​developing the Virtual Library Readme.cc arose following a project, which took place in 2002 at the Collegium Helveticum at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich in collaboration with his literary guest Walter Grond. First, Walter Grond intended exclusively with the literary critic and networker Beat Mazenauer to found a German blog, which should enable authors and critics to disclose personal book criteria. In August 2006, the development of readme.cc in the program, the EU Commission decided three years to promote the Culture 2000. The aim now was to develop a forum for readers from all over Europe. Currently, the countries of Austria, Germany, Denmark, Italy, France, Czech Republic, Great Britain, Hungary and Slovenia are involved in the Internet portal. Through Partners in Egypt extends readme.cc but also beyond the borders of Europe. By working with both multimedia expert Andreas Kohli and Martin Roth an internet platform was created on each reader can put together his own library. In September 2009 Readme.cc organized the first " European Literature Days ", to which representatives from different areas of the literary and international authors in Castle Grove field have ( Austria ) come together. As part of the " European Literature Days 09" and the newly created European Union Prize for Literature was presented.
