Rechelkopf

The Rechelkopf is a 1,330 m high mountain in the Bavarian Alps, in the municipality of Gaißach in Isarwinkel.

In the German Alpine Club mountain of this section Waakirchen is assigned. Is the hut of this section, the Sigriz -Alm on its northern slope.

With adequate snow conditions takes place annually during the carnival season at the western slope ( Gerstland ) the popular Schnablerrennen instead.

Between the Rechelkopf and Blomberg was during the Ice Age, the Alpentor of Isartalgletschers. This drew the Isartalgletscher at an altitude of about 1000 m above sea level. By NN.

The rise of Gaißach, either from the district fief ago or Grundern from done, on Sundays Trat path, which on the south upstream hill Sundays occurred ( 1096 m, also called Sunndraht, with small private summit hut) leads to the summit of Rechelkopfs. Overall, the route that is completely wooded, uncrowded, quiet and varied. The Rechelkopf is also popular in the early spring and late fall when higher surrounding mountains are still or once again with snow. From the east the mountain from Waakirchen or from Marie Stone can climb over the Sigrizalm.
