Rechberger red before the confluence with Schweighausen

The Rechberger Red, also known as Rotbach the largest inflow at its upper reaches, is a tributary of the Jagst at its headwaters in Virngrund in northeastern Baden-Württemberg. The creek arises as Gunzenbach and is also called to a portion in the vicinity of the mouth of the Rotbaches as its own short book underflow stream.

Stream

The stream of Rechberger Red lies in Ostalb and in Schwäbisch Hall. The red will be named Gunzenbach near the forest of moss pool northeast of Wäldershub, a district of Fichtenau, not far from the village. The creek flows first to the south and by his first mill pond, the pond peoples at the international mill ( sic! ). After passing the Fichtenhofs and the inlet of the Krettenbachs from the right through the village with the same opposite Gunzach on the left bank he turns to the southeast, crosses under a first time before the two ponds at the top mill, the A 7, proposes shortly afterwards at the Melbersmühle a narrow arc and then continues to flow to the southwest. Thereafter, he crosses the A7 at Hahnmühle ( with tap pond ) a second time and removed from then continues to the west of the highway. In this section of the creek is called as the lower reaches of the inflowing here Rotbachs also book Bach. Below the book mill where he leaves the territory of the municipality Fichtenau, it is called but then only Rotbach or Rechberger red from here almost to Rechenberg the way of the Red puts roughly the border between the municipalities Stimpfach in the northwest and Jagstzell in the southeast from. It flows to Eulenmühle and hammer forged, then to the feet of the castle and village Rechenberg (part of Stimpfach and largest settlement on the banks of the Red) through the castle lake, a Sägmühlweiher, and then to the municipality of Jagstzell. At the Rotbachsägmühle at Schweighausen in the community Jagstzell the Rechberger red crosses under the highway 290 Ellwangen - Crailsheim and then flows right into the Jagst, a few hundred meters above the Orrot ( left tributary ).

Traffic

From the L - 1070 Wäldershub Wildenstein on the peoples mill going off, followed by a village road connecting the upper stream to Melbersmühle. A little down the valley from the Hahnmühle runs the L 1068 to Rechenberg near the stream, the curvy 2672 K through the narrow lower valley connects Rechenberg with the B 290 in Schweighausen.

The Rotbach is 14.5 km long and is one of the stronger inflows to the upper Jagst. From its catchment area of 37.5 km ² - according to this criterion, it ranks among the ten largest tributaries of the Jagst. In the annual mean, after all 0,310 m³ / s flow into the Jagst.
