Rectus capitis posterior major muscle

The rectus capitis posterior major (Latin for " large rear head straight muscle " ) is a small skeletal muscle of the head - neck junction. It rises to the spinous process of the axis and is applied to the lower neck line ( inferior nuchal line ) of the occipital bone.
