Red Ale

As a red beer different beers are called. Regional distinction is the Belgian red beer and the Nuremberg red beer in particular. In other regions also smoked beer and brown beer is called a red beer.

In Anglo-Saxon culture space Red Ales are among the traditional beers.

History

The development of the Belgian Rotbiers was carried out by the Brewery Rodenbach in Roeselare, West Flanders in the 19th century. It has about 5% alcohol, a fruity -sour taste and a typical reddish color that results from the aging in wood barrels.
