Red Oak is a city in Ellis County in the U.S. state of Texas in the United States.

Geography

The city is located in the central northeast Texas on Interstate 35, approximately 32 km south of Dallas in the north of the county and has a total area of 20.3 km ² without significant water surface.

Demographic data

According to the census of 2000, there were 4,301 people in 1,570 households and 1,238 families. The population density was 212.4 inhabitants per km ². The racial the population was composed of 85.98 % White, 5.42 % African American, 0.53 % Native American, 0.88 % Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander residents from the and 4.65 % from other ethnic groups.
