Refuge Victor Sella
The Rifugio Vittorio Sella ( 2585 m slm ), also Rifugio Sella al Lauson, is a farmed in the summer months refuge in the Graian the northern Italian autonomous region of Valle d'Aosta. The Rifugio of the Club Alpino Italiano ( CAI ) belongs to the municipality of Cogne, in the homonymous valley in the Gran Paradiso National Park.
History
One of the buildings of the Rifugio has emerged as a hunting lodge of the Italian king Victor Emmanuel II, was later rebuilt and extended. Named is the refuge by Vittorio Sella, mountaineer ( first winter exceeded the Matterhorn, first winter ascent of the Dufour Peak ), explorer and founder of the Italian mountain photography.
