Regelation

Under Regelation (Latin re - gelare = slightly thawed ) is the pressure dependence of the phase transition between solid and liquid state of substances whose melt has a higher density than its solid phase ( density anomaly ).

The refreezing causes eg water liquefaction of ice with pressure increase and the refreezing when the pressure drops.
