Reginald Hoare

Sir Reginald Hervey Hoare KCMG (* July 19, 1882; † August 12, 1954 ) was a British diplomat.

Life

Reginald Hervey Hoare was the son of Charles Hoare (1844-1898), senior partner of C. Hoare & Co. Reginald Hoare studied at Eton College. He joined the Foreign Service in 1905. In 1922 he married Lucy Joan Cavendish - Bentinck. From 1931 to 1934 he was envoy extraordinary and minister plenipotentiary in Tehran, Iran.

From 1934 to 1941 he was envoy extraordinary and minister plenipotentiary in Bucharest, Romania. After Charles II abdicated on 6 September 1940, he was withdrawn from Bucharest. In 1941, he was forced to retire.
