Reginald I, Count of Bar

Rainald I. the one-eyed (franz: Renaud le Borgne, † 1149 ) was since 1102/1105 a count of Bar, Verdun and Mousson and bailiff of Saint- Pierremont out of the house Scarponnois. Life

At possession of his inheritance Rainald came across the open rejection of the citizens of Verdun. In a violent confrontation with them he retired to an injury that resulted in the loss of an eye. He founded a Premonstratensian abbey at COMMERCY, the castle of COMMERCY even he pledged in 1106 to the monastery of Saint- Mihiel.
