Regional policy

As a regional policy (also: regional economic policy, regional structural policy ) that portion of the economic policies of a local authority is designated, which deals with the economic structure of sub-regions within each region (or its Economic Area ) addresses. It includes both the control of regional developments by a higher authority ( central regional policy ) as well as the policies of the regions themselves (endogenous regional policy ). The locally aligned municipal location policy, however, is not on regional policy in the narrow sense added on.

Traditionally, it is the interventionist -oriented, balancing on the principle of cohesion disparities within an area regional policy to the majority. In addition, however, since about the end of the 1970s increasingly enters the concept of innovation-oriented regional policy, to be taken in the regions as independent economic actors.
