Regurgitate (band)

Regurgitate is a grindcore or goregrind band from Stockholm / Mjölby in Sweden.

History

The band was founded in 1990. At the beginning Regurgitate was heavily influenced by Carcass. However, the band has hardly death metal influences in contrast to Carcass. An important influence on the music and the concept had numerous horror films of the 1970s, especially the films of director Lucio Fulci.

Following the release of several demos, split albums and EPs released in 1994, the first and so far only Regurgitate album titled Effortless Regurgitation of Bright Red Blood. After that, the band members focus on their many other musical groups in which they are active / were like, among others Merciless, Entombed, Nasum, Unanimated and General Surgery.

In 1996, appeared Although a split release, but these contained only old material from the previous album. It was not until the debut album was re-released in 1999, the band began to work further. After a promo, the band received a permanent contract with the American music label Relapse Records for the first time. Here appeared all other publication with the exception of some split releases.

In 2001, Bizarre Leprous Productions appeared on a tribute compilation with contributions by 46 Music Group titled Comeback of Goregods: Tribute to Regurgitate. Among other things, the bands Inhume, Lymphatic Phlegm, Gore Beyond Necropsy and Haemorrhage are represented on it.
