Rehab is a soul / R & B song by British singer Amy Winehouse from the year 2006. The song was published in October 2006 in the UK, in March 2007 in the U.S. as the first single from the album Back to Black. The song reached number 23 in Germany, number 7 in the UK and number 9 in the U.S.. The song won three Grammy Awards.
History
The song was written by Winehouse herself and produced by Mark Ronson. It was about her refusal to go to a rehabilitation clinic after they had been encouraged by her record label to do so. Winehouse said in an interview: "It was my old management 's idea to stick me in rehab but I'm not with them anymore and there's not much cause for me to go to rehab now ( ... ) When it was suggested to me. , I went to see the guy at the center for 10 minutes just so i could say to the record company did I went. " Later she joined the management.
In the text "Ray" ( Ray Charles) and " Mr. Hathaway " ( Donny Hathaway ) can be mentioned. Live Winehouse sang sometimes " Blake" instead of Ray, in allusion to her ex-husband, Blake Fielder- Civil.
Music Video
The music video was filmed with Phil Griffin and published in September 2006. It shows how Winehouse's band is playing in pajamas in an apartment. During the second verse, the singer is also seen as she sits in the practice of a psychiatrist who is, however, not to see for yourself. Finally, we see Winehouse in the tiled room of a hospital, her band around. The video was nominated for "Video of the Year" at the MTV Video Music Awards 2007. The video was shown on 31 May 2007 Total Request Live for the first time.

Rehab won three Grammy Awards in 2008, for " Record of the Year ", " Song of the Year " and "Best Female Pop Vocal Performance ".
Cover versions
The song was already gecovert few times. So Girls Aloud and Seether played the song. Also built Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age text lines in the song Feel Good Hit of the Summer one. Zebrahead played the song on Panty Raid. Justin Timberlake sang Rehab on his tour in 2007.
