Reiner Geye

Reiner Geye ( born November 22, 1949 in Duisburg, † August 8, 2002 in Mainz ) was a German football player.

Career

He began his career at TuS Duisburg Geye 48/99 and Eintracht Duisburg. In 1968 he moved to Fortuna Dusseldorf. From 1971 to 1986 he was active in the 1st Bundesliga Fortuna Dusseldorf and 1.FC Kaiserslautern and scored in 485 games 113 goals. For the team wins, he played from 1972 to 1974 four times and scored one goal during international match on 4 September 1974 in Switzerland.

After his playing career, he served as Vice President and Manager (until 1996 ) at the 1 FC Kaiserslautern.

Reiner Geye died of severe liver disease as a result of alcohol problems.
