Reiner Michalke

Reiner Michalke ( born 1956 in Cologne ) is a German festival director, former bassist and jazz functionary. He is particular as program director of the city garden ( Cologne) from the beginning (1986) and artistic director of the Moers festival known.

Work

Michalke studied economics and music (both in Cologne) and founded in 1978 with the Cologne jazz musicians such as Achim Fink or Wulfin Lieske the association " Initiative Kölner Jazz Haus eV ", which he chaired until today. From 1976 to 1986 he worked as a freelance musician (including " Extempore ", " Nonet " ), Expert on Cultural Policy, producer ( " city of music " ) and moderator (eg for WDR and Germany radio ) as well as a lecturer on bass, guitar and ensemble playing at the Music School Remscheid active.
