Reinhard Erös

Reinhard Alois Erös (* 1948 in Tirschenreuth ) is a German activists, aid workers and retired Colonel in the Medical the Bundeswehr. Together with his wife Annette and his five children, he runs since 1998, the Children's Aid Afghanistan, with the construction of village schools and high schools, orphanages, clinics, computer training centers and vocational schools providing humanitarian aid and reconstruction assistance in the eastern provinces of Afghanistan. He lives in Mintraching in the district of Regensburg.

Life

From 1967 to 1972 Erös served as a regular soldier of the German Army and was an officer in the Fernspähtruppe. Erös completed as part of the training course and the lone parachutist course for automatic parachute jumps and freefall.

After the end of his service, he studied medicine and political science in 1980 and entered again into the Bundeswehr. He was, inter alia, medical officer at the Mountain Division, commander of a medical battalion commander and a training group at the Medical Academy of the Bundeswehr.

Since 1981 Erös was during his vacation several times with international aid agencies in crisis and disaster areas in use ( inter alia, in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Rwanda, East Timor). 1986 Erös had leave of absence from the army for four years without pay to the medical care as a physician organization in the war zone of Afghanistan, the civilian population; yet he had to take great personal risks.

On the first " blue helmet use " of the Bundeswehr in Cambodia 1992/93 Erös was involved as a commander of a battalion medical. From 1996 to 1998 he taught as a lecturer in the Department of Security Policy at the Staff College. In its last use was Erös 1999-2001 command physician of the Special Operations Division. 2002, he joined with 54 years to retire early. Since then, he has dedicated himself fully to his work in Afghanistan.

Erös regarded as a profound knowledge of the country and is therefore regular German police for their overseas deployment in Afghanistan. In numerous speeches he gives a lecture on the subject of Afghanistan.

Erös is no party, but since 2002 he is on the list of ODP council member of the district of Regensburg. He is married and the father of five children, another son of the couple died at the end of the 1980s.
