Réjean Ducharme

Réjean Ducharme ( born August 12, 1941 in Saint- Félix- de -Valois, Quebec, Canada ) is a French-Canadian novelist and playwright.

Ducharme lives a secluded life in Montreal and is not interested since the publication of his first book in 1966 on publicity. He also works as a visual artist and creates sculptures. A major theme Duch arm earlier works is the rejection and lack of understanding of the adult world through the children.

Duch Armes French edition of L' Avalee of avalés was for Le combat des livres, a competition held by Radio Canada Author competition, nominated. Presentation and defense of this work - broadcast by Radio Canada in 2005 - took over the Canadian actress Sophie Cadieu. L' Avalee of avalés won this competition. The book - the first work of a very young and unknown author - has been proposed as a candidate for the Prix Goncourt.

In Jean -Claude Lauzons film Leolo Duch arm L' Avalee of avalés plays the real key role: One day brings a vagrant " tamer of verses " a book in Leolos House: L' Avalee of avalés. The book serves as a support for the wobbly kitchen table. At night, wrapped up, in the light of the open refrigerator, Leolo reads that book - and again the handwritten entry under the title on the inside " because I dream, I 'm not ." He begins to write itself to reflect. Leolo and his family are in the imagination ultimately lead to figures of one - maybe this - Romans. Until the very end: "I will rest his head between two words in L' Avalee of avalés ".
