Reliance Power

Reliance Power is an Indian company, which wants to operate power plants.

Reliance Power owned 50 percent for utilities Reliance Energy. It is part of the Reliance - Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group of Indian businessman Anil Ambani.

Reliance Energy brought on 11 February 2008 its energy subsidiary Reliance Power to the India market. It was 2.1 billion euros for ten percent of the shares of the largest ever IPO in India. The shares were oversubscribed 73 times. However, they fell on the first trading by almost 20 percent because of the power company has no ongoing business, but only has big investment plans. Reliance Power is willing to finance with the proceeds from the IPO, the construction of 13 power plants with 28,200 megawatts of capacity and cost of 28.5 billion dollars by 2016.
