Production

Relics is an album by Pink Floyd, that was released in 1971. It contains a compilation of songs from previous albums as well as several songs that have not previously appeared on an album. These include, inter alia, the first two singles of the band, See Emily Play and Arnold Layne, which arose under the former lead guitarist of the band, Syd Barrett. Next is the song Biding My Time by Roger Waters, performed by the band previously only live as part of the composition The Man / The Journey, included as a studio version.

The cover is a drawing of the drummer Nick Mason, which purports to be an imaginative, utopian musical instrument. This instrument resembles roughly a church organ, installed in a mechanical monster. In the published version of 1996 Relics on the CD cover shows the same instrument, but this time as a photo of a made-to the original design model.

Relics reached # 34 in the UK and place 153 in the U.S. charts.
