Rene Capo

Rene Capo ( May 9, 1961 in Pinar del Río, Pinar del Río, Cuba, † July 6, 2009 in Chicago, Illinois) was an American judoka.

Rene Capo grew up as the son of Cuban immigrants in Hialeah, Florida, on. His family had come to the United States in 1962. He played from 1979 to 1982 the football team of the University of Minnesota, where he also studied. In 1985 he completed his studies. Capo participated in the Summer Olympics in 1988 in Seoul and 1996 Atlanta part.

Capo lived in Naperville, Illinois. He was married and had two sons. In 2008, lung cancer was diagnosed in him, where he eventually died July 2009.
