René Kopeinig

René Kopeinig (born 4 February 1983) is a former Austrian cyclist from Villach.

René Kopeinig began his Radkarriere the 2003 Styrian Team Merida Austria. He won 3rd place at the Austrian U23 - Mountain State Championships this year. For good helper services in the Select Tour 2003 he was nominated by his team for the Tour of Austria to support Team Captain Hans Peter Obwaller. In 2004 he drove for the team Corratec Austria, the successor of Team Merida Austria. In 2006 he drove for the team Plast Recycling Austria, where he was one of the helpers for the Sprinter Dean Podgornik. Since 2007 Kopeinig drove for the Austrian team Focus in his native Carinthia. On 1 May 2008, he finished his career for personal reasons.

Since 2012 he lives and works in Mexico City. Rene Kopeinig is a graduate of the University of Applied Sciences Villach and has two academic degrees, Bachelor of Science and Master of Science.
