René Peters

René Peters ( born June 15, 1981 in Dudelange ) is a Luxembourgian football player.

Life

Club career

From July 1999 to June 2000 Peter was standing by the Belgian club Standard Liege under contract for which, however, he completed a single League game. Then he played from 2000 to 2001 with the French U.S. Créteil. There, too, he had no league match use. From 2001 to 2008 he played in his home country of Luxembourg in Swift Hesperingen. He then moved to the league rivals Jeunesse Esch, with whom he was in 2010 Luxembourg champion.

Following the lost Cup final in 2012 against F91 Dudelange ( 2:4 after extra time ) Peters left the Jeunesse and switched to FC RM Hamm Benfica.

National team career

Peters was several times on the national team and played several competitions. In the years 2002/2003, 2006/2007, 2010/2011, he took part in each case to the European Championship qualifiers. In the years 2003, 2004, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010, he played several friendly matches. He also played in the World Cup qualifiers squad in Europe in 2006 and 2010. 2013 he finished his career in the national team.
