Rene Swette

René Swette ( born August 21, 1988 in Lustenau, Austria ) is an Austrian professional ice hockey goaltender. He is 183 cm tall, weighs 79 kg and begins at the left.

Career

Swette began his career at a young age in the various youth teams of EHC Lustenau. He was able to perform well quickly by putting in the first team and reached the pinnacle of his young career in the 2005/06 season, where he became the first goalkeeper with his original club champion of the National League, the second division of Austria. At this time Swette was seventeen years old. After two successful years in the National League, he signed a contract with the EC KAC and moved to the Erste Bank Hockey League. There he functioned as a backup goalie behind Hannes Enzenhofer and showed excellent performance. After an injury Enzenhofers he finished the season as Ersatztothüter behind Travis Scott and was able to celebrate on December 9 against the Vienna Capitals his first Bundesliga shutout. Swette led at times even the goalkeeper statistics and ended the season in second place behind Scott. Finally, in the 2009/10 season, he rose for the first goalkeeper to the EC KAC.

In 2007, René Swette was first appointed to the Youth National Team and stood again in 2008 in the squad. In the U20 World Cup in Bad Tölz (Group IA ), he scored his first shutout in an international competition. In spring 2009 Swette was also in some friendlies in the extended squad of senior national team, but managed then but not in the World Cup team.
