Renko

Renko [ rɛŋkɔ ] ( swedish Rengo ) is a former municipality in the southern Finnish landscape Kanta -Häme. At the beginning of 2009, it was amalgamated with the municipalities Hauho, Kalvola, Lammi and Tuulos into town Hämeenlinna.

Renko is the 15 km southwest of the center of Hämeenlinna. Apart from the same community center, the former municipality of Renko includes the villages Ahoinen, Asemi, Kaloinen, Kuittila, Lietsa, Muurila, Nevilä, Oinaala, Uusikylä, Vaimare, Vehmainen and Nummenkylä. The municipality covered an area of 290.85 km ² (of which 12.32 km ² inland waters). The population was 2,365 last.

Renko is located on the Ox Road, the historical trade route from Turku to malice. Today, the Army Road is a tourist route.

Church

The medieval stone church stands out for its unusual octagonal shape. It was built in the 16th century, but soon fell and was no longer used from the mid-17th century. 1783, she has been completely renovated, with the old church only the foundations remain.
