Rennie Fritchie, Baroness Fritchie

Irene Tordoff " Rennie " Fritchie, Baroness Fritchie, DBE ( born April 29, 1942 in Fife, Scotland) is a British civil servants and Life Peeress.

Life and career

She attended the Ribston Hall Grammar School for Girls in Gloucester. Fritchie is also known by her nickname " Rennie ".

She had a long career, specializing in training and development. She is described as a 'portfolio' worker and has held various positions in addition to the United Kingdom Commissioner for Public Appointments ( 1999-2005 ) held, including President of the Pennell Initiative for Women's Health in Later Life.

In the 1970s, she was one of the first full-time counselors for the education of women and pioneered in the training of staff in the then new Equal Opportunities Commission. In 1985 she received a scholarship ( German Marshall Fellowship ) and drew lessons from the USA to the United Kingdom for programs that improve the status of women. These she answered in writing and in the media to speak.

From 1988 to 1992 she was chairman of the Gloucester Health Authority, 1992 to 1994 in the South Western Regional Health Authority and from 1994 to 1996 in the South and West Regional Health Authority. Since 2007 Fritchie is Chair of the Independent Appointments Selection Board at the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. From 2007 to 2010 she was a member of the Supervisory Board (Board) and Deputy Chairman ( Deputy Chair ) of the Scottish Public Services Ombudsman Audit Advisory Board.

In 2010 she was Chairman ( Chairman ) of Nominet. She is a professor honorary in Creative Leadership at York University, Pro - Chancellor is the University of Southampton, Commissioner of Civil Service from 1999 to 2005 and Deputy Chairman ( Vice - Chair ) of the Stroud and Swindon Building Society. She is active in several charity organizations. Fritchie is Chair of 2gether NHS Foundation Trust in Gloucestershire, and the Council of Governors of 2gether and 2012 was appointed Chancellor of the University of Gloucestershire.

She is a consultant (Consultant ) of Mainstream Development; Vice -President of the British Lung Foundation; Ambassador of Winston 's Wish ( grief work with children making ), Gloucestershire First and the Fife Council of St Andrews. In addition, she is president of Women in Banking and Finance.

Membership in the House of Lords

Fritchie was on 31 May 2005 for Life peer as Baroness Fritchie, of Gloucester in the County of Gloucestershire appointed. In the House of Lords she sits as a cross Bencher. The official launch took place on 19 July 2005 with the support of Julia Cumberlege, Baroness Cumberlege and Richard Wilson, Baron Wilson of Dinton. Your inauguration, she held on 11 May 2006 for medical research. In July 2006, she volunteered for the treatment of women in Iraq to speak.
