Rennsteig Cycle Path

The Rennsteig Cycle Trail follows 195 km of the already existing since the Middle Ages courier and trade Rennsteig. The cycle path is predominantly carefully gravelled, partly out on quiet country roads. On the crest of the Thuringian low mountain range of the bike path in large sections is identical to the same trail, but deviates here and there from the historic Rennsteig, so that strong gradients were avoided. Start is at Hörschel west of Eisenach, target is in Blankenstein an der Saale.
