Repeat sign

The repeat sign is a symbol in music notation.

In this case, the first measure would be played twice. Normally no repeat sign is set if you want to repeat from the beginning at the beginning of a piece of music.

In the event that only a portion of a piece is to be repeated, repeat sign must precede the first measure of the repeated part will also set a ( directed to the right ). Volt brackets (also: clip, house ) are used when a clock or more should be skipped at the end of the repetition after repetition of part or replaced by a different clock. Thus, for the notation a clear sequence:

A - A - B ( bars 1 and 2) - B (cycle 1) - C ( 2 clock of B is omitted)

Repetitions, mostly related to larger sections, can also be displayed by Da capo and dal segno.
