Rephlex Records

Rephlex Records is a 1991 by musician Richard D. James ( Aphex Twin ) and Grant Wilson - Claridge founded record label for electronic music. For a description of the most difficult uncategorizable publications, the style name " Brain Dance" was coined. Rephlex Records' own definition of " Brain Dance" is:

The publication policy of the label is not particularly stringent. According to James, the operators find long-term contracts " silly ". Some artists only released one or two albums, before they switched to other labels. Other plates were announced for years before they finally appeared. More than 200 albums, EPs and singles were released since 1991.

History

With his next releases on Warp Records James established his fame as a pioneer of intelligent dance music (IDM ). His commercial breakthrough as a musician also caused an unprecedented surge in popularity of the business it small labels.
