The Republic Spartak Stadium (Russian Республиканский стадион " Спартак ") is a football stadium with track and field facility in the Russian city of Vladikavkaz, Republic of North Ossetia-Alania. It has a seating capacity for 32,464 spectators ( including 75 VIP seats ), making it the fourth largest stadium in Russia. It serves the club Alania Vladikavkaz as homestead.

History

The Republic Spartak Stadium in Wladiwawkas, a Russian city in the Caucasus, on the border with Georgia, was built in 1962. Since then, the club Alania Vladikavkaz its home games will host here. Alanija was still a -time Russian champion, namely 1995. Two more times (1992 and 1996) was one runner-up. The championship of the Soviet Union could not win, the biggest success were two second places in 1966 and 1983.

The successful period in the nineties of the 20th century allowed some participation in international competitions. Thus, in this stadium games, for example, played against Borussia Dortmund, FC Liverpool, Rangers or the RSC Anderlecht. From 2001, however, the successful time in Vladikavkaz was over. The club was relegated in 2010 from Premjer from the league and plays since the second Russian league.

2011 succeeded Alania Vladikavkaz the curious feat, to qualify as a second division for the 2011/12 season in the UEFA Europa League.
