Repulsion (Band)

Repulsion is the oldest grindcore band of the United States. The band recorded the first grindcore album, but officially released until later. Only the British band Napalm Death is two years older. Repulsion are also paving the way for the later Death Grind.

History

Repulsion was founded in 1984 under the name " Tempter " by Matt Olivo and Scott Carlsson in Flint, Michigan. In the same year the name changed twice. First, the band named " Ultra Violence " before then published the first demo still in 1984 under the name "Genocide". 1985 changed Carlsson and Olivo then briefly to the band Death after Chuck Schuldiner had Rick Rozz and Kam Lee thrown due to inability to get out. In 1986, the band then called in " Repulsion " to. In that year, a demo was released, which was the first grindcore album later entered into the story. Originally, the album Horrified under the name Slaughter of the Innocent was published as a demo recording. The re-release as an album was performed by the Earache Records sublabel Necrosis, which was one of the band members of Carcass. However, after the release of the band Horrified got no contract and broke up in 1993. After the interest from fans even after ten years, still continues, Repulsion has teamed up again in 2003.

Aaron Freeman and Matt Olivo still played in the 1990s, also in the band dejecta.
