Requinto

As requinto smaller guitars are denoted by 6 strings in the Spanish-speaking world, but these are voted by 3-4 tones higher than the guitar.

The scale ranges from about 40 cm to 60 cm. The body normally has to facilitate a cutaway to the playability from the 12th fret, and is smaller than in the classical guitar. The frame is, however, a wide ( of the body is higher ) in order to achieve volume.

The usual strings tuning is: A, d, g, c1, e1, a1. Thus, the strings sound like a fretted at the fifth fret standard guitar string. The requinto is mostly plucked and not beaten.
