Resuttano

Resuttano is a municipality of the province of Caltanissetta in the Italian region Sicily, with 2126 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012).

Location and data

Resuttano located 38 kilometers north of Caltanissetta an enclave in the province of Palermo. The inhabitants mainly work in agriculture. There are cultivated cereals, almonds, olives and Gewürzsumach.

The neighboring municipalities are Alimena (PA ), Blufi (PA ), Bompietro (PA ), Petralia Sottana (PA) and Santa Caterina Villarmosa.

History

In the area were already at time of Arab settlements with the name Rahal Sultan. The present town was founded in 1625.
