Reting Rinpoche

Radreng Rinpoche is the title of a major Trülku line of the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism. The name " Radreng Rinpoche " refers to the 1056/1057, founded by Dromtönpa Radreng monastery in central Tibet, the traditional headquarters of Radreng Rinpoche.

History

The first Radreng Rinpoche Ngawang Chogden in 1719 Abbot of Gyumay ( Tib: rgyud smad ). In 1728 he became the Yongdzin ( Tib: yongs ' dzin; Tutor ) appointed the 7th Dalai Lama, and in 1739 he was elected the 54th Ganden Thripa. The Office of the Ganden Thripa he held until 1746.

The second Radreng Rinpoche was recognized in 1761 as Trülku of Ngawang Chogden. In 1765 he became throne holder of the monastery Radreng. In 1780 he received full ordination of 6 Penchen Lama Lobsang Yeshe Pelden. From Chinese Emperor Qianlong in 1770 he received the honorary title Archimen Nomihan.

After the early death of the 11th Dalai Lama officiated the 3 Radreng Rinpoche as an intermediate Regent in Tibet. The young 12th Dalai Lama gave the monastic vows.

The 5th Radreng Jampel Yeshe Rinpoche Gyeltshen was recognized by the 13th Dalai Lama. He was 1934-1941 " Regent of Tibet." In 1935, he was instrumental in the discovery of the 14th Dalai Lama, and later headed its enthronement. His successor was the third Tagdrag Trülku Ngawang Sungrab Thutob ( 1874-1952 ). 1947 Jampel Yeshe Gyeltshen was arrested and died in the same year in prison under the Potala Palace in Lhasa, probably due to poison. The monastery was plundered by Radreng Tibetan troops. The events in this context, which are also known as " Radreng intrigue " ( reting Conspiracy ), have almost led to a civil war in Tibet.

After 1947

After the death of Tenzin Jigme Rinpoche 5 Radreng Thutob Wangchuk was recognized by the Tibetan government than 6 Radreng Rinpoche. Tenzin Jigme Wangchuk Thutob remained after the flight of the 14th Dalai Lama in Tibet in 1959 and died in 1997. In 2000, after the flight of Ugyen Dorje Thrinle to India, the Chinese government announced the discovery of a 7 Radreng Rinpoche.

Another person raises the claim to the title of the 6th Radreng Rinpoche objects, however, the Tibetan government wanted to suppress the line of Radreng Rinpoche after the death of the 5th Radreng Rinpoche and an illegitimate candidate used as 6 Radreng Rinpoche.
