Retno Kustijah

Retno Koestijah (born 19 June 1942 also known as Mbak Kus ) is a former Indonesian badminton player. It was 1969 and 1972 Vice World Champion with the Indonesian women's team.

Career

In the final of the Uber Cup 1969, the emerging Indonesian team met on Japan, but lost with 1:6. Minarni and Koestijah subject in this finals in both doubles Noriko Takagi and Hiroe Yuki and Tomoko Takahashi, and Hiroe Amano. 1972 fared no better Indonesian women. Once again, there was recorded a high 1:6 defeat. Retno Koestijah lost doing her first double with Poppy Tumengkol against Etsuko Takenaka and Machiko Aizawa with 8:15 and 9:15. The second game they lost to Noriko Nakayama and Hiroe Yuki with 9:15 and 11:15.

In the individual disciplines Koestijah won in 1962 with the double Minarni rating at the Asian Games. 1966, the two defended this item while in 1970 only handed to silver. 1968 won Koestijah and Minarni at the All England. In 1971, she was twice the Asian champions when they won both the Mixed with Christian Hadinata as well as the double with Intan.
