Retrocession

Retrocession is a "Next reinsurance " - for reducing and spreading the risk. Here for example is a reinsurer parts of a portfolio to the retroceding on. There occur the same forms of reinsurance. Technically, it is rückzuversicherndes business that is already reinsured, which provides financial relief of the primary reinsurer.

As retroceding the reinsurer is called who takes over parts of the company's retro-ceding. The retroceding in turn can simultaneously turn be Retrozedent and retroceding the portfolio sold to other reinsurers, thus passed.
