Rettenbach, Swabia

Rettenbachferner is a municipality in the Swabian district of Günzburg and a member of the administrative community Offingen.

Geography

Rettenbach is located in the Danube-Iller region, in the north of the district of Günzburg.

There are the following districts: Hard living, Remshart, Rettenbachferner.

Save creek borders the municipalities of: Günzburg, Offingen, Dürrlauingen and Burgau. The municipal area which opens into the Kammel Mindel before it empties into the Danube at Offingen.

History

Save Bach was a part of the fief of the Bishopric of Augsburg, on the other hand the Margraviate of Burgau. The Lords of Riedheim 1446 could acquire the hochstiftische fief and 1517, the two portions of the burgauischen fief and therefore also the local rule. The Riedheimsche rule Harthausen came with the Act of Confederation in 1806 to the Kingdom of Bavaria.

Incorporations

The previously independent municipalities Harthausen and Remshart were incorporated to Rettenbach on 1 July 1970.

Population Development

On the territory of the commune were 1970 1.180 1987 1.275 then, in 2000 and 1,573 in 2009 counted 1708 inhabitants, distributed as follows: Rettenbachferner 1060, Harthausen 355 and Remshart 293 (November 2009).

Policy

The council has 12 members. At the municipal election in 2008 was attributable to the five CSU, the Independent voters Rettenbachferner ( UWR ) and four seats on the citizens list Rettenbachferner (BL ) three seats.

Mayor since 2008, Sandra Dietrich- Kast.

The municipal tax revenue in 2009 amounted to 1,289 M €, of which amounted to the trade tax revenues T € 633.

It was in 1998 according to official statistics in manufacturing and 238 in trade and transport, no social insurance contributions at the workplace. In other areas, were employed to social security at the work of 29 people. Tourism

Situated on the boundary Remshart Silver Lake, created by the gravel mining, is a popular recreational area and in winter quarters for migratory birds from the north. Rettenbach is located on the Via Julia, a former Roman military road leading from Günzburg over Augsburg to Salzburg.
