Réunion national football team

The national football team of Réunion is the national team of the French Overseas Departments of Réunion. It is organized by the Association Reunionnaise Ligue de Football, a regional organization under the French Association Fédération Française de Football.

Réunion is not a member of the world football governing body FIFA and therefore does not participate in qualifiers to World Cup Soccer Championships. Reunion Island is only an associate member of the Continental Association CAF what the team but are not entitled to participate in the qualifiers for the African Cup. In addition, the national team in the Coupe de l' Outre- Mer, the competition for national teams from France's overseas territories involved. 2008 and 2012 Reunion won the trophy.

In addition, La Réunion has already contested some international games, most of them against Madagascar, Mauritius and the Seychelles.

More recently, originating from the island of professional footballers playing an increasingly prominent role in the French A- national team. So their coach Laurent Blanc Guillaume Hoarau with Benoît Trémoulinas Dimitri Payet and has appointed three of them in his squad for the European Championship qualifiers in October 2010.
