Rexhep Qosja

Rexhep Qosja ( born June 25, 1936 in Vusanje, Yugoslavia ) is an Albanian writer, literary and cultural scholars.

Life

Rexhep Qosja wrote numerous essays, poems and stories. In many of his works devoted to national and political issues. His novel In such eyes the death is counted among the outstanding works of the Albanian contemporary literature.

During the 1990s to Qosja engaged in the League for Human Rights and in the defense against anti- Albanian Serb actions in Kosovo. Since that time, he speaks out in favor of the formation of an Albanian state, which is to include the entire Albanian settlement area. Recently, his controversy has caused the writer Ismail Kadare on the cultural identity of the Albanian people for attention among the Albanians. While Kadare considers the Albanians for an exclusively Western nation and Islam characterized as un - Albanian, Qosja represents an integrative point of view. The Albanians were equally influenced by the traditions of the West and the Orient. Today Qosja lives in Pristina.
