Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles GmbH (or short RMMV ) is a joint venture for the production of military wheeled vehicles of the two German companies Rheinmetall AG and MAN Truck & Bus AG. The approval by the Federal Cartel Office on 22 February 2010. Companies in the military wheeled vehicle activities Rheinmetall Land Systems GmbH and the Military Division of MAN commercial vehicles were merged. The first step merger took place on 1 May 2010, and referred to the areas of development and distribution. With effect from 1 January 2012, the wheeled vehicle production in Kassel (formerly Rheinmetall Land Systems ) and the truck plant in Vienna were (previously MAN Truck & Bus AG, Austria ) was transferred to the joint venture RMMV.

The company is headquartered in Munich busy at the locations Amsterdam, Ede, Kassel, Munich and Vienna around 1380 employees (as of February 2012).

Corporate strategy

With the RMMV Rheinmetall MAN and aim to pool their military technological capabilities in the field of tactical and logistical trucks. The joint venture is an important step in the process of European consolidation in the field of military vehicles. RMMV products are sold internationally. The company aims to medium term from annual sales of up to 1 billion euros.

The first public appearance of the RMMV on the industry's major trade show was held in Paris at the Eurosatory exhibition in 2010. Also on the IDEB 2010 ( Incheba Expo Bratislava / International Defence Exhibition Bratislava) in Bratislava is presented, the young company.

The product range of the new company is made up of the sum of the existing military wheeled vehicles of both joint venture partners.

Was not transferred to Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles GmbH product range of the former Rheinmetall Land Systems GmbH, as it relates to the field of tracked vehicles, such as the new Puma infantry fighting vehicle of the Bundeswehr (in cooperation with Krauss -Maffei Wegmann ), the Marder and the mountains and armored engineering vehicle based on the Leopard 2

History

Due to the planned termination of 150 employees in the factory Vienna, the works end of August 2013 led by a three-day hunger strike in front of the Vienna plant.
