The airport Rhodes Maritsa is a former airport on the Greek island of Rhodes. He was replaced due to reaching full capacity by the location and the runway length from Rhodes Diagoras Airport, which is only a few kilometers north.
Especially in the summers there were on the former Airport hundreds of charter flights.
Current usage
As the old start and runways still exist, the airport is now used for car and motorcycle racing. Every now and then also takes place an air show with model flying demonstrations, because there is a Flugsportverein is established, which still uses the airport in part.
