Rhodinol is an acyclic monoterpene alcohol component, and of essential oils. ( )- Rhodinol [ Synonym: (R ) - rhodinol ] can be found in geranium oil, (-)- rhodinol [ Synonyms: ( S)- rhodinol ] in Cymbopogon oils. In perfumery rhodinol is used for the composition of floral scents. The scent impression is pleasant, expressive, somewhat sweet, reminiscent of rose and geranium, waxy green.
