Rhombophryne

Rhombophryne serratopalpebrosa

Rhombophryne is an amphibian genus of the family -mouthed.

Description

The pupils are horizontal. The tongue is large, elongated, entire and only free of the sides can be lifted. On its top there is a longitudinal pit. Palate teeth are present in a continuous, v -shaped transverse row behind the posterior nares. There is a transverse fold of skin between the Eustachian tube. The tympanic membrane can not be seen. On fingers and toes not webbed exists. The toes are slightly broadened. The coracoids are strongly broadened and slightly directed kaudad. The Praecoracoide are extremely weak. The Omosternum missing. The sternum is a big plate of cartilage. The transverse processes of the Sacralwirbels are weak broadened. The bony phalanges of the fingers and toes are simple.

Occurrence

The genus is endemic to Madagascar.
