Summit plateau

The Rhos- Fawr ( Great Rhos ) is a mountain in the County of Powys in Wales, he is the highest elevation of the Radnor Forest and part of the Cambrian Mountains.

The summit rises from a heathery plateau up. Its side peaks are Black Mix (Welsh Micsen you ), on which a transmission tower is located, the Drygarn Fawr and the Gorllwyn. The Radnor Forest ( Fforest Faesyfed ) is a wooded hunting area from which protrudes the Rhos- Fawr mountain country.

In the south of Rhos Fawr, the Black Mountains lie.

Legend

According to a local legend, the locals built four churches around the Radnor Forest to capture the last surviving Welsh dragon to sleep here. The church name was Llanfihangel Cefnllys, Llanfihangel Rhydithon, Llanfihangel Nant Melan and Llanfihangel Cascob, dedicated to the Archangel Michael all the Dragonslayer (Welsh Mihangel ). If even one of the churches is destroyed, then the dragon wakes up and devastated the country.
