Rhymefest

Rhymefest ( born July 6, 1977 in Chicago; civil Che Smith ) is an American rapper.

Life and career

Smith grew up in Chicago. At the age of 15, he began rapping. In 1997 he took part in the Scribble Jam Festival at MC Battle. In the semifinals, he defeated the then unknown Eminem. In 2001 he took without a label and distribution on the album Raw Dawg, which was produced by the then-unknown Kanye West. In 2003, he won the Scribble Jam MC Battle.

By 2004, Smith had to keep up with various jobs to support, among other things, he worked as a janitor. This year seemed to Kanye West's album The College Dropout, which contains the mitgeschriebenen of Rhymefest track Jesus Walks.
