Ribnica na Pohorju

Ribnica na Pohorju ( German: Reifing at Bachem ) is a former Styrian community which is now counted in the region Carinthian in Slovenia.

Location and population

Made up of six villages overall community Ribnica na Pohorju has 1272 inhabitants. In the largest village of the same name, 414 people live. The community is located south of Radlje whether Dravi. It lies between the Velka Valley and the Vuhreščica Valley in the Pohorje.

History

In Roman times, drove through Ribnica the street from Konjice in the Drava valley. Today, the site is a known skiing and hiking area.

Worth seeing

On the top of Plešivec the legendary lake of Ribnica ( Ribniško Jezero ) is 1490 meters altitude. This raised bog is only filled by rainwater.
